Yellowstone

So we ventured up to Yellowstone this weekend and had a really nice time. We left Saturday and drove up to Island Park where we took the kiddos to Big Springs, a family favorite of ours to go. We went to feed fish but ended up feeding a lot of the seagulls and a few muskrats. We took them up to Johnny Sacks cabin and let them go through it.
Next we drove up to West Yellowstone where we stayed at the Comfort Hotel. We then went and cruised the shops in West and let the kids get their souviners.

Next day we got up had breakfast, packed our lunch for the day and headed into the park. We took the lower route heading out to Cody. At first didn't see much . Did see the Yellowstone lake where the kids got to get out and throw rocks.

Next was the real treat. In all the years of going to Yellowstone I have NEVER seen a grizzly bear. Well not this year. We spotted a mama and two cubs in Hayden Valley on our way up the northern loop. I was excited!! Kids Had no idea why. We spotted the mountain sheep on the high cliffs. There were 5 and I think they were females and babies.
Next we went up to Mammoth on the north end. We saw a Coyote run right pass people and I think they thought it was a dog. We took a break and enjoyed an ice cream. Taylee liked that idea. On the way back to West  we spotted another Coyote and more bison. It was an exciting day for me. Loved seeing the bears.

Martin Harris Pageant

Had the opportunity to go to the Martin Harris pageant in Clarkston this evening with my mom and dad, Geneice, Weston, and my Malaree. Boy things have changed in that pageant. We used to go over to it all the time because it talked about my great-great grandma Annie Jardine who met Martin Harris as a little girl. Now they pretty well have cut her out of the play and focused mainly on Martin...as it should be I guess since it is called the Martin Harris pageant. Still I remember hearing her name in the pageant and how proud I was to be a relative of her and to have part of her name as my own. I love Clarkston!! Needless to say the pageant was good... not as long as it used to be...thank heavens you get tb after too much sitting. We should all be grateful for our ancestors and the legacy they left for us.

Birthdays

So as most of you know today was my birthday. To me it's just an ordinary day. I still have to get up and fix the kids breakfast, I still have to get my dishes done. I do however love to see what the kids come up with for gifts. All day long you can sense they are up to something. Well the unveiling finally came. Brendan gave me a piece of paper folded and at first said it was a telescope...then later changed his mind and said it was something to go on my hand. Malaree had gathered up beads from her bedroom and put them in a baggie for me so I can put together a bracelet. The usual cards came and of course  the Dr. pepper offerings. It's a good thing I am not a drinker of hard substances. I have enough D.P. to last me awhile...or a few days at least. As the famous song goes though, I am another day older and deeper in debt. Well here's to one more day still here. Thanks for the Birthday wishes.

Camping

We went camping over the 24th of July. It was Taylee's first camping experience. The mosquitos quite enjoyed her. We had to put on this bandana so they would quit getting her face. Needless to say she loved it so she must belong. We loved camping up there and had a lot of fun.
